An internationally renowned piano and saxophone duo are to perform at Proms and Prosecco in the Park this year!

Saxophonist Dom Childs will be joined by pianist Simon Callaghan to perform a stunning mix of music from the stage, screen and beyond, which is sure to delight the crowds! As an orchestral musician, Dom has toured, recorded and performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Dom has also been involved in a a number of live broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 and has performed at the ‘official’ Last Night of the Proms.  Dom’s debut solo album was released this year, featuring works written or inspired by women.

Steinway Artist Simon Callaghan performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. Recent tours have taken him to Asia, Europe and North America and to the UK’s major concert halls including Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and St David’s Hall Cardiff, to name but a few! Simon has performed frequently on BBC radio and television. In addition to his performing schedule, Simon is Director of Music at Conway Hall, where he oversees the longest-running chamber music series in Europe.

One of the things we love about creating Proms and Prosecco in the Park is the opportunity to bring internationally acclaimed artists to Shropshire, in a stunning outdoor setting, so we’re absolutely thrilled that Dom and Simon will be part of this year’s line up.

Picture the scene – picnic blanket on the ground, picnic hamper full of goodies, delicious street food cooked in front of your eyes, a glass of something fizzy in hand, all whilst listening to stirring, uplifting music inspired by the Last Night of the Proms! What could be better?
